Dr Lucy Williams graduated from the University of Western Australia Faculty of Medicine in 1989. After internship at Royal Perth Hospital she was employed at King Edward Memorial Hospital for Women in 1991 and was accepted on to the Obstetrics and Gynaecology training programme the following year.

During her she training undertook research with the Women’s and Infants’ Research Foundation. She was presented with the Young Investigator Award in Obstetric Medicine in 1996 from the Australian and New Zealand Perinatal Society. She resided in Vancouver from 1997 till 1999 undertaking further research into management of Menopause with Dr J.C.Prior at the University of BC.

She was awarded Fellowship of the College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2002. By this time she was married with two children. She has also provided assistance to the Primate breeding programme at Perth Zoo.

Since joining Concept in 2002 she has established herself as successful fertility specialist. She also has expertise in management of all reproductive endocrinology as well as general gynaecology. She no longer practices Obstetrics. She has been Medical Director of Concept since December 2007. Lucy says she finds her career incredibly rewarding, and takes great pleasure from helping to create families.

Dr Kevin Artley is a Specialist Gynaecologist with particular interest in Reproductive Medicine and Infertility Management

Dr Artley completed his Specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in UK, then as Clinical Research Director at Monash IVF in Management of Infertility including Assisted Reproductive Technology. He was subsequently Medical Director at the Centre for Reproductive Medicine, Queens Hospital, Burton-on-Trent, UK.

He has been an Examiner for the MRCOG and has special interests in management of all aspects of medical and surgical management of infertility.

Dr Simon Turner

Dr Simon Turner is a consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with over 30 years of experience. He is also the Medical Director of Hollywood Fertility Centre.

Dr Turner has professional interests in Fertility and Reproductive Medicine. He also has interests in minimally invasive surgery, namely, Hysteroscopic and Laparoscopic surgery.

Simon graduated from the University of Western Australia in 1975 and continued his gynaecological studies in England. In the early eighties he returned to Perth and started a busy private practice in obstetrics and general gynaecology. In 1982, he began working in infertility and was part of the exciting pioneering era of IVF.

Hollywood Fertility Centre was established by Simon in 2000 to cater for the needs of couples requiring fertility and assisted reproduction assistance. HFC has become a major provider of infertility, IVF and other assisted conception techniques in WA and was recently awarded the 2009 WA Business News Rising Star Award.

Lincoln Brett graduated from the University of Tasmania and subsequently trained in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Western Australia, Singapore and Melbourne.

Currently Associate Professor, Head of Obstetrics and Gynaecology University of Notre Dame. His particular interest is in gynaecological endoscopic surgery. He performs advanced endoscopic procedures for infertility, laparoscopic hysterectomy, minimally invasive anti-incontinence procedures and other endoscopic operations. He has been an advanced laparoscopic preceptor and has trained many other gynaecologists in this field.

Dr Barton graduated from UWA in 1993.

She commenced her training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 1997 at King Edward Memorial Hospital.

Dr Barton worked with Dr Simon Turner at The Hollywood Fertility Centre during the last 18 months of her training. She completed her training in 2003 and worked as a full-time staff specialist at King Edward Memorial Hospital.

Since returning from maternity leave, Dr Barton is working part-time at King Edward Memorial Hospital with interests in infertility, early pregnancy loss and adolescent pregnancy.

Dr Zhuo-Ming Chu completed his PhD at the University of Western Australia and subsequently trained in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Western Australia.

He is currently a full time Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at King Edward Memorial Hospital. He is a general Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with personal interest in gynaecological endoscopic surgery and infertility. In addition Dr Chu can speak fluent Cantonese and Mandarin.

Dr Patton has over 30 years experience as a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist. He is well respected in Mandurah, Rockingham and surrounding areas.

He is currently the Visiting Medical Officer Specialist in Gynaecology at Rockingham Kwinana District Hospital in Rockingham, Peel Health Campus in Mandurah, Waikiki Private Hospital in Rockingham and Murray District Hospital in Pinjarra.

Dr Patton has professional interests in gynaecology, colposcopy, hysteroscopy, urodynamics, and uro-gynaecology. He also has interests in minimally invasive surgery, namely, hysteroscopic and laparoscopic surgery.

Dr Vincent Chapple is a consultant Gyaecologist and Infertility specialist who has a special interest in the management of endometriosis and advanced, minimally invasive (or laparoscopic) surgery.

Dr Chapple studied medicine at St Bartholomew’s Hospital London and started his Obstetrics and Gynaecology training at St Bartholomew’s and Guys Hospitals before immigrating to Perth, completing his training at King Edward Memorial Hospital in 1996.

He stopped private Obstetric practice to concentrate on the care of infertile couples in 2005 and completed a Masters in Reproductive Medicine through the University of New South Wales in 2008. He has been Medical Director of Fertility North for the past 10 years and works in private practice in Glengarry Private Hospital and Joondalup Health Campus.

He also has an adjunct position as a Clinical Mentor for Notre Dame Medical School students.

PIVET Medical Director, Dr John Yovich is widely acknowledged for his pioneering work in In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) resulting in Western Australia's first IVF baby delivered in 1982 and the establishment of PIVET Medical Centre.

Dr Yovich and his specialist team have undergone extensive training in the use of keyhole surgery within major infertility clinics both in the United States and United Kingdom. Furthermore, Dr Yovich has been at the forefront of developing advanced laparoscopic techniques.

Dr Mary Watt obtained her medical degree at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland in 1965. Prior to moving to Australia in 1973, Mary worked in the USA, Scotland, & England. Mary specialises in gynaecological and menopausal cases.

Mary has been a part-time consultant at PIVET since May 2004 and spreads her time between her private practice and surgical list and 2 sessions per week at PIVET.

Dr Philip Rowlands graduated from Dundee University, Scotland. He completed his higher Specialist Post graduate training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Newcastle-upon-Tyne obtaining Certificate of Completed Specialist Training. Dr Rowlands obtained Membership of The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 1997 and Fellowship of Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in gynaecological surgery in 2000.

He is a certified Colposcopist, obtaining his British Society of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology accreditation in 2001. In 2007, Dr Rowlands obtained Fellowship of The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecology. Dr Philip Rowlands has broad experience in gynaecological pelvic surgery, in particular, with advanced laparoscopic procedures.

Dr Lingam obtained his medical degree in Malaysia in 1991 & later completed his postgraduate training in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at the National University of Malaysia in 1998. He had previously worked at PIVET in 2005-2006 while undergoing fellowship training in reproductive medicine. Dr Lingam has returned in 2008 to rejoin the PIVET team as a Consultant Gynaecologist. His interests are infertility & reproductive medicine, laparoscopic surgery and ultrasound imaging in gynaecology.

Dr Lingam is currently practicing at our sister clinic Cairns Fertility Centre.

Dr Peter Richardson graduated from the University of Western Australia in 1963. He fulfilled Membership of The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists training requirements at the King Edward Memorial Hospital for Women and the Fremantle Hospital in Perth, Western Australia and the Royal Hospital for Women in Sydney, New South Wales.

Dr Richardson then worked in the United Kingdom from 1968 to 1970 as a Senior Registrar at St Luke's Hospital in Guildford and as a locum Consultant to the Welsh Regional Hospital Board. During his time in the UK he was further trained in laparoscopy by Patrick Steptoe in Oldham, and in ultrasound by Ian Donald at the Queen Mother's Hospital in Glasgow.

From 1970 to 1972 Dr Richardson was in private practice in New York, USA as attending Obstetrician and Gynaecologist to St. Joseph's Hospital and Arnott-Ogden Memorial Hospital. 1973 saw him return to Perth and enter into specialist practice with Dr Michael Connaughton.

In 1991 Dr Richardson was elected Chairman of the National Association of Specialist Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and continued with this role until 1995. He was elected National President of the Australian Association of the Ambulatory Vaginal and Incontinence Surgeons (AAVIS) in 1995 continued in this role until 2000. During this time he chaired the 1995 and 1997 National AAVIS scientific meetings (of which the 1997 meeting was a satellite of Royal Australian College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists Scientific Meeting) at Royal Perth Hospital that were attended by gynaecologists from all over Australia. He has also been a member of the Professional Services Review Panel for the Health Insurance Commission since 1995.

From 1986 to 1991 Dr Richardson held consultant and teaching appointments in obstetrics and gynaecology at Fremantle Hospital alongside working in infertility management, including in vitro fertilisation at PIVET Medical Centre. Until 2008 he had a private consulting practice in high-risk obstetrics and gynaecology with an interest in urogynaecology, hysteroscopy and pelviscopic surgery. In 2007 he re-commenced practice at PIVET in assisted reproductive technology and reproductive endocrinology. Currently Dr Richardson is practicing at PIVET and our sister clinic Cairns Fertility Centre.

Dr Chris Nichols is an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with extensive experience in the management of fertility.

He is a UWA graduate and practised for many years as a general practitioner before specialising. When not at Fertility Specialists South, he works at SJOG Hospital Murdoch.

He is an examiner with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, director of the Division of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at SJOG Hospital Murdoch and an adjunct senior lecturer at Notre Dame’s School of Medicine in Fremantle.

Dr Krish Karthigasu

Dr Krish Karthigasu is a Gynaecologist with specialist training and experience in advanced laparoscopic surgery for fertility and endometriosis.

He graduated from UWA, completed his specialist training in Perth, Melbourne and UK, and then underwent post fellowship training in Advanced Endoscopic Surgery with the Sydney Women’s Endosurgery Centre and the Centre for Advanced Reproductive Endosurgery in Sydney. He is currently Consultant Gynaecologist & Gynaecological Laparoscopic Surgeon at KEMH, and Head of Gynaecology Endoscopy at KEMH.

Other appointments include Clinical Senior Lecturer in Gynaecology at UWA. Dr. Karthigasu has now commenced practice at Fertility Specialists South providing assisted reproduction and fertility management and surgery.
